Amit is passionate about delivering high quality foot and ankle orthopaedic care. He has a wide and varied clinical practice including major foot and ankle trauma, post traumatic deformity correction, ankle arthroplasty and diabetic foot reconstruction.
Having completed higher surgical training in the South-East Thames training programme in London, Amit undertook three post training fellowships. The first of these was at Barts Health, undertaking major trauma and complex foot and ankle elective training. He augmented this with a fellowship in ankle arthroplasty in Nottingham and diabetic foot reconstruction at Kings College Hospital. He was awarded the prestigious European Foot and Ankle Society travelling fellowship award in 2023, travelling and learning from world renowned surgeons in Germany, Poland, Denmark, Finland, and Spain.
Academically, he recruits for major trials based out of Barts Health and has published widely in the field of foot and ankle helping him deliver evidence-based healthcare to his patients. He has a higher degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine
He is a member of the British, European and American foot and ankle societies. As a member of the Young Consultant committee for the European Foot and Ankle Society he is involved with driving forward training for European foot and ankle surgeons. He has been involved with setting national standards for ankle arthritis management from the British Foot and Ankle Society. Nationally he is involved with delivering post-surgical training and FRCS exam teaching in foot and ankle on a multitude of courses.
