I am a Consultant Cardiologist with an expertise in all aspects of general cardiology and sub-specialisation in advanced cardiac imaging.
I specialise in the management of all aspects of general cardiology including coronary disease, heart failure, arrhythmia and valvular heart disease. I have an sub-specialty interest in advanced cardiac imaging and I am proficient in echocardiography, advanced/ contrast echo, transoesophageal echo, stress echo (pharmacological and exercise stress), cardiac CT (SCCT level 2) including TAVI planning and FFR CT, and cardiac MRI (EAVCI level 3).
I qualified from Guys and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2003. I trained in cardiology in NW London, and have undertaken training in all aspects of advanced cardiac imaging. I have completed three years of sub-specialist training in cardiac imaging as part of the prestigious Royal Brompton and Imperial College fellowships.
My academic interests lie in population based genomics and epidemiology. I completed my PHD in 2013, during which I investigated genetic and environmental factors determining the increased risk of type 2 diabetes amongst South Asians compared to Europeans. I have presented at several national and international meetings, and our work was published in multiple high ranking scientific journals.
I am clinical lead for heart failure at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust.
